In case you haven’t heard…
Normani’s gonna be your motivation. But seriously, with just a little help from Cardi’s social media, we can see why Normani’s #1 in trending. She already hit a top 10 this year collaborating with Sam Smith on “Dancing With a Stranger,” but it looks like the Fifth Harmony alum is coming to slay on her debut solo single.
The track itself was actually written by no other than Ariana Grande, who had a little help from megahit pop producer Max Martin, among other writers. It has a sickening beat, reminiscent of Beyonce’s “Check On It” with a 2019 flair and a harmony that comes straight out of “thank you, next.” The video shows Normani walking down the streets of Los Angeles and transitions to a dance solo in the rain, an homage to “Crazy In Love.” Also, that tye die outfit is giving serious 3LW “No More” flashbacks, and I am here for it!
“Motivation” seems to be already getting more traction than Lauren Jauregui and Ally Brooke’s solo singles earlier this year. Will “Motivation” have what it takes to top the charts to top fellow Fifth Harmony member, Camila Cabello? Will Max Martin have his 22nd number one hit? Looks like time will tell!
