Gorillaz Brings Us Episode 3 of New Project

Gorillaz has released their new collaboration with London based musician Georgia on drums and Joy Division founder Peter Hook on bass. The track titled “Aries” comes as the third installment this year for their current music project, Song Machine. Throughout 2020, the group will be releasing 13 installments with unannounced guests over the course of the year. Gorillaz have also teased a possible collaboration with Australian psychedelic music project Tame Impala as one of the installments.

For “Aries” Gorillaz have also collaborated with producer James Ford, who has also produced for Depeche Mode, Arctic Monkeys. and Florence and the Machine. He has also previously collaborated with Gorillaz on their last album in 2018, The Now Now, who he co-produced with lead singer Damon Albarn. The track takes us back to a New Order vibe with its synth wave infusion, obvious inspiration from the work with Peter Hook.

The video for the song takes virtual members 2-D and Murdoc on a motorcycle ride through a desert highway. It also ends with a little COVID-19 advice from 2-D. Check it out below.
